An image of the packaging for Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 6S Plus has leaked online, as rumours emerge that the updated device will feature a smaller battery.
The report that accompanied the snap also cites supply-chain sources who claim that the iPhone 6S Plus’s battery will be smaller than the 2910 mAh effort in last year’s iPhone 6 Plus, at 2750 mAh.
The new iPhone 6S is likely to also feature a pared down battery too, down to 1715 mAh from 1800 mAh, the insiders revealed.
While this may cause some initial consternation, it’s likely that Apple will have improved the efficiency of the power units in order to eke out longer battery life.
Those hoping for something like 48 hours worth of power, though, are likely to be disappointed.
Apple is set to reveal its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at a special event on September 9th. Official confirmation of the event should arrive in the next few days
