Apple is mightily mistaken if it thinks stylus support will be a major selling point for the iPad Pro, a survey suggests, as the tech giant bids to reverse a long-term decline in tablet sales.
Punters also seem chagrined at the £65 or so cost of the add-on, with 22.2% describing the asking price as ‘way too expensive’. Nearly as many (19.4%) said they were frustrated that they’ll have to pay anything extra to be the owner of an Apple Pencil.
Conversely, the amount of punters giving the Pencil a warm welcome were pretty paltry. Only 10.2% described it as a “great addition to the iPad’, while a similarly scanty 8.8% said they think they’ll find it very useful.
However, for all that consumers seemingly aren’t sold on the Apple Pencil, they appear to be much, much more receptive to the iPad Pro itself. A not inconsiderable 30% of the sample said that they’ve added the super-sized tablet to their shopping list since it was unveiled last week.
