The LG’s new G5 high-end phone is now available to pre-order, ahead of its arrival on shop shelves on April 1st.

EE is offering the handset for £39.99 and £9.99 upfront. This entitles you to 4GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts and use of EE's double speed 4G service in areas where it's available.

But the real 'sell' for EE is that if you're among the first 2,000 to order the phone you'll also get a free pair Bang & Olufsen (B&O) Play H3 in-ear headphones and a B&O play S3 speaker. That's £400 worth of complimentary kit.

Carphone Warehouse is selling the handset, which stole the show when it was launched at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) technology expo, from £37.50 per month on O2, with nothing to pay upfront.

That gets you 1GB of data per month and unlimited texts and calls. More importantly, though, the deal also includes a free pair of B&O headphones worth £150 as a sweetener for early-bird, pre-order customers.

If you don’t mind paying a bit upfront, there’s another keenly priced deal available on EE through Carphone. That works out at £42.49 per month, with a one-off charge of £9.99 to cover the cost of the phone.

Telugu boothu Kathalu: Allowances here are a whopping 5GB of data per month, with unlimited calls and texts. Once again, you’re also entitled to those complimentary headphones.

Other retailers are on board too. Mobile Phones Direct is offering the G5 for £35 per month on Vodafone. Allowances here are 1GB of data, unlimited texts and 1,000 minutes per month.

Telugu boothu Kathalu Touted as a ‘transforming smartphone’, the G5’s big sell is that it’s the first ‘modular’ phone from a mainstream handset-manufacturer.

‘Modular’ in this sense means you can change the G5’s functionality and appearance by adding accessories (‘modules’).

These add-ons, which are branded the LG Friends range, include a 360-degree camera, a VR (Virtual Reality headset) for gaming and a speaker set from B&O that offers rich, thick sound. Winningly, and rather unusually for a modern smartphone, you can also buy a secondary battery, so you're covered when you're low on charge. Telugu boothu Kathalu

The phone is also home to a battery-efficient, always-on screen that means you don’t have to wake up your phone if you want to see the time and a wide-angle 16-megapixel camera.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are now on sale in the UK, but users are reporting a slight issue with the S7 Edge.

Telugu dengudu kathalu
They say it's far too sensitive around the edge of the screen, due to misfiring 'palm rejection' technology that isn't doing as it's supposed to and rejecting accidental presses caused by users' palms.

According to David Ruddock at Android Police, this is most noticeable when using the camera and holding the phone in both hands in landscape mode.

With your fingers grasping the corners of the display, he says it's tricky getting the phone to register your press of the shutter every time.

He also says the problem occurs when typing on the phone in landscape mode, especially when lying in bed and holding the phone more awkwardly.

However, we didn't notice any such issue in our review. Indeed, Ruddock says that the problem doesn't affect every S7 Edge, so chances are only a small number have the issue.

We've contacted Samsung UK for comment and will update this story if we hear back.

The issue can be rectified by holding the phone differently. But as with the antennagate issue with the iPhone 4, users will point out they shouldn't have to adjust how they hold the phone to make it work. Us consumers aren't the ones at fault, after all.

We're sure it can be fixed by Samsung pushing out a software update. We'll fill you in you when we hear more.

Facebook and Twitter have said they support Apple CEO Tim Cook’s stance against allowing the FBI so–called ‘backdoor’ access to iPhones, after federal agents demanded Apple hack into an iPhone belonging to the man behind last year’s San Bernardino terror attacks.Telugu dengudu Kathalu

In a short tweet, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said: “We stand with Tim Cook and Apple (and thank him for his leadership)”.

Dorsey then linked to Cook’s original open letter, detailing why Apple believes that building backdoor access to a user’s iPhone could set a dangerous precedent and pave the way for a world in which smartphones are regularly hacked by the authorities.

Cook says Apple has not built such software into its phones and is refusing to accede to the FBI's demands.

Facebook has also revealed its support for Apple, issuing this statement to USA Today: “We condemn terrorism and have total solidarity with victims of terror.

"Those who seek to praise, promote, or plan terrorist acts have no place on our services. We also appreciate the difficult and essential work of law enforcement to keep people safe.

“When we receive lawful requests from these authorities we comply.

"However, we will continue to fight aggressively against requirements for companies to weaken the security of their systems. These demands would create a chilling precedent and obstruct companies' efforts to secure their products."

An Apple patent filing been discovered that appears to refer to 3D Force Touch, adding fresh detail to what we know of the updated touch-sensitive tech that's due to appear in the new iPhone 6S.

The filing from July this year, which was unearthed by Patently Apple, makes direct reference to pressure being measured as the “sum of three components.”

A separate report earlier this week suggested that as well as being able to distinguish between a tap and a press, as on the MacBook and Apple Watch, Cupertino would add a third layer of pressure-sensitivity to the iPhone version of Force Touch.

This so–called 'deep press', which just means you'll be depressing the screen for longer, should give access to different features compared to a standard swipe or press.

The inclusion of Force Touch in the iPhone 6S has been mooted for months.

The tech’s existence in other Apple products has already given an indication of what we can expect, but these last-minute rumours suggest we may be getting something a bit richer than previously thought.

Apple will reveal its new iPhones at a special event on September 9th in San Francisco.

Periscope, Twitter’s live streaming service, is set to be among the first apps to make the jump from iPhone and iPad to the new Apple TV.

Apple is believed to be readying a revamped version of its set top box, which will offer third-party apps for the first time. According to sources speaking with TechCrunch, Periscope will be one of these at launch.

The exact details of how Periscope will work on the big screen are not yet clear. But it doesn’t take a tech genius to work out that streaming live clips from an iPhone to an Apple TV will be relatively straightforward and hugely appealing to existing users.

Twitter, Facebook and other social apps are likely to make the move from the App Store on your phone to the one on your telly.

Likewise, games are set to be a big deal, with the new box’s remote control offering motion sensitivity and the potential to act as a gaming controller.

Apple will also reveal its new iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and updated iPad range alongside the Apple TV at a special event in San Francisco this evening.

Google has unveiled a new food photo tool, which is built into its Maps for Android app and allows users to attach images of their meals to places within Maps, in order to improve reviews.

The process is simple. Users simply take a shot of their breakfast, lunch, dinner or grab–and–go coffee.

Maps then fires out a notification saying it’s detected a shot has been taken in a particular location. One more tap then lets foodies post the image, alongside a quick review, onto Maps.

Google earlier this year launched and then quickly shuttered a new food photo app called Tablescape. While that add–on never got a final release, the tech behind it does now seem to be bearing fruit.

At the moment, the new Maps for Android food photo function is limited only to Google’s ‘local guides’ at level three and above. But if it’s a success, expect it to get a wider release.

Google’s move suggests it wants to wrest the initiative from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, where most food snaps wind up.

Apple says the handsets affected were ‘sold primarily between September 2014 and January 2015’.

If yours is affected, you’ll need to find your phone’s serial number and enter it into the official checker on Apple’s website to see if it’s eligible for the fix.

To find the serial number, simply go to the Settings app, tap on General and then About. The number can be copied over from there.

Alternatively, you can find the serial number of your iPhone 6 Plus’s box if you still have it or via the summary tab when you plug your iPhone into iTunes.

Apple says that any other hardware problems, such as a cracked screen, should be fixed before you hand over your phone for repair.

Without doing so, the fragile method by which the iSight camera is replaced won’t work. Sure, this could be costly, but not as much as having to buy a whole new phone.

You may find you’re covered under insurance for non–iSight issues.

Don’t go handing your phone over for repair without backing up your iPhone’s data.

This can be easily done by either plugging into iTunes and storing files locally, or via iCloud, with the option to store all your app settings and files on Apple’s servers.

It’s as good excuse as any to ensure you don’t lose vital information

Telugu boothu Kathalu In Telugu Script: Using demand for the Apple Watch will see the device be made available in all US outlets of Best Buy next month, in a sign that maybe punters are finally coming around to the charms of the Cali company's smartwatch.

The news comes after Apple failed to report specific sales figures for its wearable, leaving some analysts to wonder openly whether the smartwatch has been a costly failure.

However, speaking with Fortune, Best Buy’s CEO Hubert Joly's categorically refuted that, claiming that "demand for Apple Watch has been so strong in the stores and online".

He added that the Apple Watch would be sold in all 1,050 of Best Buy’s main stores from September 4th, after the success of the initial launch in 300 outlets.

It marks a rare piece of good news for Apple when it comes to the watch.

Research earlier this summer suggested demand had nosedived by 90%, while component suppliers claimed that they were unlikely to reach break even volume on the parts they were producing on Apple's behalf.

Apple is not likely to say just how many watches it has sold, with CEO Tim Cook claiming that he does not wish to give the competition an unfair advantage.

The Apple Watch 2 will go into trial production this week, with the tech giant's Taiwanese manufacturing partner Quanta charged with assembling the sequel to last year’s smartwatch.

According to Taiwan’s Commercial Times, Quanta will begin manufacturing the device over the next few weeks.

Quanta made the original Apple Watch, although previous reports have suggested that long-term partner Foxconn may also be working on the follow-up.

The news fits neatly with other rumours pointing towards a March launch for the Apple Watch 2.

Word is that Apple will host an event to show off its latest wearable alongside its new budget smartphone, the much rumoured iPhone 6c.

Quanta’s CEO claimed last year that the Apple Watch 2 would be on shelves in the second quarter of 2016, giving Apple time to offer the device on pre–order after its March event.

The Apple Watch 2 is thought to be thinner, with a faster processor and greater independence from the iPhone.

Watch os2, the latest version of the operating system developed specifically for the Apple Watch that was released last year, is also likely to receive a further update when the device is revealed.

HTC looks set to partner with Google on two new Nexus phones this year, reports suggest.

A tip from a user of Chinese social networking service Weibo claimed the Taiwanese phone-maker has been enlisted to make a 5–inch model and another, larger 5.5–inch device.

HTC made last year’s well received Nexus 9 tablet for Google, but has since struggled to make a similar impact in the smartphone market.

Its One M9 flagship failed to sell in large numbers, with punters instead opting for iPhones and Samsung's high-end Galaxy handsets.

Last year, HTC said it would stop issuing profit forecasts, in an effort to shore up its fluctuating share price.

The two new Nexus phones could go some way to giving HTC some financial breathing space, although the company said at the start of 2016 that it would be moving its focus to Virtual Reality

Samsung's next flagship, the Galaxy S7, is due to be released in the next three months, so it's no surprise to see it leak again. What is surprising is that reports suggest the handset could drop down to a 12-megapixel camera.

That would be down from the 16-megapixel snapper on the Galaxy S6.

So what's going on? Well first of all, it's important to note that these aren't official specs.

They come from Chinese social networking site Weibo where they were posted by AnTuTu, one of the most popular benchmarking platforms. Benchmarking is when a tester puts phones through their paces to gauge exact specs to compare them against each other.

Secondly, a 12-megapixel camera isn't necessarily any worse than a 16-megapixel one.

There's a lot more to image quality than mere megapixels. The iPhone 6S sports a 12-megapixel snapper, after all, and it gives some of the best photos of any phone.

The S7's other leaked specs include a 5.1-inch screen with a resolution of 2,560x1,440 pixels, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

We could see the S7 as soon as Mobile World Congress, which kicks off on February 22nd. Expect more leaks before then.

The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are now up for pre-order on Tesco Mobile. And pretty competitively priced they are too.

The 16GB edition of the 6S is up for grabs free from £42 per month, with monthly allowances of 5,000 texts, 5,000 minutes and 3GB of data.

If you want the iPhone 6S Plus, that can be yours from £46 per month with no upfront charge. Allowances here are 3GB of data per month and the same 5,000 texts and 5,000 minutes allocation.

Free handset deals for the iPhone 6S have been pretty hard to come in the UK in this pre-order period. So it’s fair to say that Tesco Mobile's pricing is an fairly aggressive gambit and makes its contracts well worth a look.

On the downside, Tesco Mobile’s service is pretty frills-free. That means you don’t get the kind of sweeteners and jazzy whizzbangs you get with, say, O2’s Priority tickets and high-street discounts scheme. Or even the cheap movie rentals included with EE Film Club.

But you do get free ClubCard points when you pay your monthly mobile phone bill. So if you do your shopping at Tesco anyway, you could be quids-in.

Virgin Media has announced pre-order price points for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, ahead of the phones’ official streetdate of September 25th.

The iPhone 6S is up for grabs from £34 per month with no upfront charge on Virgin Media’s Freestyle tariff. That’s gets you 250 minutes and 250MB of data per month, plus unlimited texts.

Given the choice, though, we’d probably opt for the £39 per month option, which includes a more realistic monthly data allowance of 1GB, as well as 2,500 minutes and unlimited texts. Once again, there’s no upfront charge for the phone.

If those sound like competitive prices, they are. But there is a catch. And that’s the mobile internet service you get on Virgin Media is 3G, rather than the 4G and even faster Cat6 4G+ service of which the new iPhone is capable.

At the time of writing, the iPhone 6S Plus was listed on drop-down menus on Virgin Media’s site, but wasn’t available to buy. That may be just because it’s out of stock.

Or it could be that Virgin Media has opted not to stock it at all. Which isn’t out of the question given that last year’s iPhone 6 Plus appealed to a pretty niche market compared with the standard iPhone 6.

Either way, we’ve given Virgin Media’s press team a shout and we’ll report back with their answer.

Samsung sold more smartphones than Apple in the final three months of last year, reasserting its position of dominance in the increasingly tough market.

According to figures from Strategy Analytics, Samsung shifted 81.3 million smartphones in the final quarter of 2015. That compares with 74.8 million for Apple, which revealed its official results earlier this week.

Last year, Samsung and Apple were neck and neck after the Christmas period, with the release of Apple’s then cutting edge iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus pushing it closer to its Korean rival than ever before.

Now though, Samsung has opened up a healthy lead over Apple, with a 22.2% share of the smartphone market. Apple has 16.1%.

The numbers, however, belie the fact that both companies this week revealed they would struggle in the coming months.

Apple said it expected to see its first-ever decline in iPhone sales, while Samsung revealed its smartphone business profits slid at the end of 2015.

If true, this would mean Apple's line-up come September would be the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, and iPhone 5SE (as this latter model would replace the 5S).

The 5SE would also have more storage than the 5S, coming in 16GB and 64GB variants. The 5S currently comes in 16GB and 32GB models.

Of course none of this is official from Apple yet, so could be untrue or subject to change. But it seems to square up so far.

Meanwhile, an image of what purports to be the iPhone 5SE has emerged over on the One More Thing forums (see the image at the top of this story). Expect plenty more of these before launch.

Apple is rumoured to be set to launch the new device during the week of March 14th. That's seven weeks' time.

We've heard plenty of rumours concerning the iPhone 6C over the years, but here's the first video that purports to show it off.

The 6C is said to be Apple's follow-up to the iPhone 5C, and with a 4-inch screen, is smaller than the iPhone 6, 6S, 6 Plus and 6S Plus.

That should make it more affordable. So that's good news.

The video shows what's purported to be a prototype of the handset being fondled for about 40 seconds. According to M.I.C. Gadget, who posted it, it comes from within the bowels of Foxconn, the Chinese firm that manufactures the iPhone.

If the video is legit – and that's a big 'if' – the 6C will look identical to the iPhone 6S. So anyone hoping for a more colourful look similar to the 5C will be disappointed.

Its 4-inch screen will be the same size as the iPhone 5S's.

Inside is said to be an A8 chip and 8GB of RAM. It'll sport the same 8-megapixel camera, Touch ID button and NFC tech for contactless payments as the iPhone 6S.

The 6C has been rumoured for years, though in recent months, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive.

According to internet hearsay, Apple will announce the device at an event in March. We'll bring you any more news as we get it.

Cards on the table time – this isn't an iPhone 7 leak, more a 'what could be'. Based on rumours, and with a sprinkling of imagination, German site iPhone-Tricks.com has come up with a render of how it would like the iPhone 7 to look. And it could well be on-the-money.

We're not sure about the borderless OLED display. But the on-screen home button could be spot on.
Apple is rumoured to be ditching a physical home button in favour of an on-screen one. It would certainly make the handset look more sleek, and, well, more Apple.

We also like the more customisable home screen, and the opportunity to choose an app from the home button without unlocking the phone.

Making the home button recognise gestures would also be a genius move. It would be just like Apple's Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad, for use with its range of desktops and laptops.

The render is "purely hypothetical", the site writes, "and aims to please your inner Apple geek." Consider it pleased.

It's just a shame we'll have to wait until September to see if the real iPhone 7 lives up to this.
