I had very low expectations for this little phone, which is exlusive to O2 in the UK. It's cheap and the specs are basic.

Latest Telugu boothu Kathalu

I was anticipating playing with it for a couple of hours and then pulling my SIM out and declaring it a waste of time and resources. But it really isn't.

It is a 'no frills' handset that perfectly matches the needs of anyone on a very tight budget and who prefers smaller phones.

Yes, there are alternatives in the same price range. The Motorola Moto E goes for about the same price, for instance.

But Moto's budget handset is looking a bit dated and its camera isn't as good. It's also thicker and heavier than the Aquaris.

The packaging is minimal. It's an all-cardboard box with no accessories except for a USB charging cable. There are no free headphones. But given the always-poor quality of bundled headphones, this is likely a blessing in disguise.

The phone is small, very light and thin. That makes it ideal for 'tween-age' hands. The design is basic but not unpleasant, and the case is built from a nice, 'soft-touch' plastic.

Android Stagefright is just the latest in a long line of arguments as to why Google’s heavily fragmented mobile operating system remains a mess.

The latest malware headline-grabber, Stagefright affects phones via MMS video. Dodgy clips can infect a phone without users even having to open them, with Google Hangouts pre–processing media attachments.

And while Google says those affected are somewhat protected thanks to application sandboxing preventing most of the damage, that’s not stopped it from promising monthly security updates for its Nexus range of phones and tablets.

Phones up to three years old will get the required patch to stop Stagefright in its tracks.

Samsung has said that it is doing the same for its newer Galaxy phones.

Motorola has said that its post–2013 line-up will get a fix, while Google has promised to sort the issues with HTC’s One M7, M8 and M9, LG’s G2, G3 and G4 and Sony’s Xperia Z3, Z4 and Z3 Compact.

That’s at least a move in the right direction. But a major issue with Android has been highlighted with this flaw.

Stagefright has been known to Google since April and yet it’s only now that the best phones are getting the treatment to stop them being infected and users’ data being compromised.

There are so many things wrong with this state of affairs that it’s hard to know where to begin.

LG  will launch its new flagship G5 smartphone on February 21st, the same day that its major rival Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S7 handset.

LG has released a series of teasers for the handset via social media, as well as launching the hashtag #LGG5 on Twitter.

The phone will be shown off at a special event in Barcelona, aimed to coincide with the annual Mobile World Congress expo being held in the city that week.

While specs have not been revealed, leakers are already having a field day telling everyone what to expect. Evan Blass, of @evleaks fame, says that the LG G5 will come with a secondary screen, fingerprint scanner and dual lens camera.

The screen will come at 5.5–inches while it will also feature a new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. However, the most exciting rumour focuses on a so–called ‘Magic Slot’ which allow users to add modules.

Although exact details of this function are unclear, it could mean adding various camera lens and VR tools to improve the phone’s performance.

Three will freeze the price of calls, texts and data for five years if its mooted merger with O2 is given the green light by regulators.

The network’s UK chairman, Canning Fok, made the vow in a letter to the Financial Times, as part of a wider bid to ensure that the multi–billion pound deal goes ahead.

Fok also said that the savings made from pulling the two huge networks together would be passed on to customers.

However, it's worth noting that Fok is talking about unit prices of calls, texts and data, rather than contract pricing.

That means that while you’ll pay the same rates if you go over your allowance, monthly package costs may still change.

Regulators have already given the green light to the merger between EE and BT. But it seems that the Three-O2 deal is proving a much harder sell.

Google has not just one, but two new Nexus smartphones waiting in the wings. It'll be the first time it's launched two smartphones at once, and like the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, they'll be different sizes.

But unlike other firms' flagships, they'll both be made by different companies: rumours say the 5.2-inch one will be made by LG, while the 5.7-incher will be made by Huawei.

So what else is there to know? Read on, and we'll give you the skinny on what could be the iPhone's fiercest rivals.

According to sources speaking to CNET, both phones will launch on September 29th – that's three weeks today.

The sources say the event will be held in San Francisco, meaning it'll likely be in the evening UK time.

This would be a little earlier than Google's previous Nexus launches. It unveiled the Nexus 6 on October 15th last year, and the Nexus 5 on October 31st 2013.

An earlier launch is likely because Google wants to stop Apple hogging all the headlines.

That's according to TalkAndroid's sources.

October 13th would be two weeks after launch, which would make sense. The delay would also allow Google to snag headlines for weeks, rather than making the phones available the day they're announced.

There's no word yet on availability, but it's safe to assume they'll start shipping around the start of November. That would be a full month after the new iPhones have gone on sale.

Samsung will unveil its new Galaxy S7 smartphones on February 21st at Mobile World Congress (MWC), it has been confirmed.

The phones' launch date was rubber-stamped after the company sent out media invites to a press call and released a teaser trailer.

It’s the third year in a row Samsung has pegged its flagship devices’ launch to Barcelona's annual event for the smartphone industry.

While the invite and teaser trailer give little away, it’s widely expected that Samsung will launch at least two variants of the phone: a flat–screened Galaxy S7 and curve–screened Galaxy S7 Edge.

A plus–sized version is expected to follow later this year.

Other specs are rumoured to include fast–charging and pressure–sensitive touch. The latter is likely to be similar to Apple’s 3D Touch, raising the prospect of more litigation between the two giants of the tech world.

There’s no word yet on when the Galaxy S7 will be released in shops, although the likelihood is it’ll be late March or early April. Apple’s new iPhone 5SE is expected at this time and Samsung will be desperate to outdo its bitter rival.

Samsung last week revealed profits from its mobile division were down, despite sales increasing and the company retaking top spot in the smartphone sales charts.

Samsung has revealed its quarterly results. And they suggest that like its key rival Apple, it will face struggles in the smartphone sector throughout 2016.

Profits from its mobile business slid by 7.3% between October and December 2015, with smartphone sales also in decline. The company did not reveal exact figures.

However, it did say that it expected smartphone shipments to be boosted year–on–year during the first three months of 2016. This is down to the launch of new products, including a range of updated Galaxy A Series handsets.

The company admitted it expected things to be tough in 2016 in general, though, and forecasted "single-digit percentage growth in both the smartphone and tablet categories, amid softening demand and intensifying competition".

Despite this, it made the bullish assertion that it "aims to reinforce its market leadership and drive growth with differentiated and innovative products".

These results, however, suggest that a wider malaise is setting in across the smartphone sector.

That's evident in Apple this week predicting its first-ever decline in iPhone sales, as well as the advent of the 'handset fatigue' trend that's making consumers less willing to pay out for incrementally better phones.

Thokudu Billa Part 04 (Telugu Boothu Kathalu in Telugu Script)

Samsung sold more smartphones than Apple in the final three months of last year, reasserting its position of dominance in the increasingly tough market.

According to figures from Strategy Analytics, Samsung shifted 81.3 million smartphones in the final quarter of 2015. That compares with 74.8 million for Apple, which revealed its official results earlier this week.

Last year, Samsung and Apple were neck and neck after the Christmas period, with the release of Apple’s then cutting edge iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus pushing it closer to its Korean rival than ever before.

Now though, Samsung has opened up a healthy lead over Apple, with a 22.2% share of the smartphone market. Apple has 16.1%.

The numbers, however, belie the fact that both companies this week revealed they would struggle in the coming months.

Apple said it expected to see its first-ever decline in iPhone sales, while Samsung revealed its smartphone business profits slid at the end of 2015.
